I was born in 1976 in Kyoto, Japan. I was interested in the theoretical study of elementary particle physics because I wanted to know more about fundamental laws of the world. However, through the experiments that I chose at Kyoto University, I found that experiments are more interesting to me.
I specialized in high-energy physics in graduate school. For my master's course, I worked on the development of electronics for the ATLAS experiment at LHC in CERN. I got my PhD at the Belle experiment at KEK in Tsukuba-city in Japan. Belle is a B-factory experiment, where enormous B mesons are produced for the study of
the CP violation in the B system and various B physics. My work is in radiative B decays. This process is considered to be sensitive to physics beyond the Standard Model, so there is a chance to see some hints of SUSY (supersymmetry) or other unknown particles. But so far it seems I have seen nothing. I continue to work on this experiment.
I like traveling by train, especially local and minor ones, but unfortunately I haven't had many chances recently because I'm busy and there is no train in Tsukuba-city (a new line will be opened for traffic in this town next autumn, so I'm looking forward to it). On my days off, I watch baseball or football games.
